New Lean-tos at Katahdin Lake!

Two new 6-person leantos are now available for reservation at Katahdin Lake. South Katahdin Lake is located on the Katahdin Lake Trail 3.2 miles from trailhead parking at Avalanche Field on the Roaring Brook Road.

North Katahdin Lake is 4.5 miles from Avalanche Field on the recently completed North Katahdin Lake Trail which can be accessed from the Martin Pond Trail. Both lean-tos have canoes. Contact our reservation office for details.

Bears:

Bears are part of the wildlife that live in the Park. Most of the time, seeing a bear in the Park is a rare treat, but our actions can sometimes invite bears to become both a nuisance and a hazard in the campground. Acting appropriately in the campground can prevent this problem. For more information visit Bears.

A reminder – pets, oversize vehicles and motorcycles are not permitted in Baxter Park. See Rules 4.1, 5.1 and 5.5
